Pairing charging with solar
On San Isabel’s one-to-one credits, it doesn’t much matter what time of day you charge — solar exported at noon offsets charging at midnight. For Black Hills customers, check your rate schedule; if you’re on a time-varying rate, schedule charging for the cheapest window.
If you add an EV, add roughly 2,500–4,000 kWh a year for typical driving to your solar sizing — about 2–3 kW of panels here.
Permits and incentives
Charger circuits need an electrical permit through the Pueblo Regional Building Department. The federal §30C charger credit ended for equipment placed in service after June 30, 2026; ask your utility about current EV programs.
