For co-op commercial members, the 100 kW net-metering ceiling shapes the project: big warehouse roofs may have room for more than can be net-metered. We design to the allowed size and your actual daytime load, rather than filling the roof.
Orchards, wineries and cold storage
Palisade’s fruit and wine operations run irrigation and refrigeration in the sunniest months. Cold storage is also where outages hurt most, so solar plus storage sized for refrigeration can be worth more than solar alone.
USDA REAP grants were paused in April 2026 pending a rule rewrite; guaranteed loans remain available, and rooftop solar on farm buildings is eligible. Verify current status before applying.
Federal timeline
As of September 2026, commercial solar can still claim §48E, generally with a December 31, 2027 placed-in-service deadline for projects that didn’t begin construction by July 4, 2026. Storage keeps eligibility through 2033 construction starts. Talk to your CPA about bonus depreciation.
